Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing team. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting client bookkeeping needs, assisting with tax preparation activities, and providing exceptional customer service. Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records for multiple individual and business clients.
- Record daily financial transactions and reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Process payroll and maintain payroll records, as needed.
- Support the preparation of individual and business tax returns by organizing financial documentation.
- Communicate professionally with clients to obtain financial information and answer bookkeeping-related questions.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper financial records.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner.
- Follow established accounting procedures while identifying opportunities to improve workflows and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with CPAs and other team members to ensure timely completion of client work.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client financial information.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Experience supporting multiple clients or multiple business accounts preferred.
- Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a public accounting or tax preparation firm.
- Experience with QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online).
- Experience processing payroll.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience preparing financial statements.
- Knowledge of individual and small business accounting.
